Ultimate Reef and Rainforest Experience at Cairns Aquarium

For the ultimate Reef and Rainforest experience, compliment your morning at the Cairns Aquarium with Skyrail Rainforest Cableway and the historic Kuranda Rail.

Discover the animal’s endemic to Tropical North Queensland as you wander through the Cairns Aquarium. Follow the fascinating journey from river to reef as you listen to talks, presentations and time at the marine touch pool.

Board Skyrail Rainforest Cableway to glide metres above the pristine rainforest canopy before descending at the two stops to explore the rainforest boardwalks and interpretation centre at Red Peak and the Edge lookout at Barron Gorge Falls, as you make your way to Kuranda Village.

Enjoy a 2 hour stop at Kuranda, the village in the rainforest, home to a number of unique artists and craftsmen. Discover the shops and market stalls (Thu – Sun) for unusual, handmade souvenirs, taste the local honey and tropical ice-cream, explore the art and craft galleries whilst wandering buskers entertain you. There’s so much to see and do!

Then make your way to the historic Kuranda Scenic Railway, as it meanders its way from Kuranda to Freshwater Station in vintage carriages. Take in the sights of the spectacular waterfalls, bridges over steep ravines and 15 tunnels through the mountains.

Itinerary:

• 10:00am – Make your own way to Cairns Aquarium
• 11.30am – Depart Cairns Aquarium and commence your drive to Skyrail Rainforest Cableway – leave your car at Skyrail Carpark
• 11:45am – Arrive at Skyrail Rainforest Cableway and proceed to ticketing area
• 12.00pm – Board Skyrail Rainforest Cableway
• 1.00pm – Arrive in Kuranda and have approximately 2 hours free time to explore
• 3:00pm – Walk to Kuranda Station ready to board the 3:30pm train
• 3:30pm – Return on the Kuranda Scenic Railway to Freshwater Connection Station
• 5:00pm – Transfer provided by Skyrail Coach back to Skyrail to collect your vehicle
